Sung Hwan Kim is an artist, producer, writer, and educator. Since 2019, he has been based in Hawaiʻi, working on the series A Record of Drifting Across the Sea (2017–). He has held solo exhibitions at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven; the Seoul Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art, New York; among others. Over the years, he has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship (2021) and was selected for the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program (2015). Kim will lead The Gwangju Biennale Academy 2026 International Curator Course.
